How it works

Right now escrow is simulated.

Bets, signatures, deadlines and referees all work. No USDC moves until escrow goes live — the card says “Simulated” until then.

Four steps

1. Write it down

One sentence, a stake and a deadline. You sign it with your finger.

2. Send the link

Anyone with this link can accept. Send it to the right person.

3. They take it

Whoever opens the link and signs is the other side. Until then nothing is locked.

4. Deadline passes

After the deadline either of you claims the win. The other has 48 hours. Say nothing and the claim stands. Disagreeing is free: without a referee it refunds you both on the spot, with one the referee decides. If the referee never does, you both get your money back after 7 days.

Two formats

Bet

You both put money in. Winner takes the pot.

“You won't run 10 km by Sunday.”

Commit

Only you put money in. Miss it and your stake goes to them.

“I'll hand in my thesis by June 1.”

The referee

The referee only appears if you two disagree. They can't take the money — only pick a winner or a draw. Ruling earns them 1% of the winnings, out of our fee, not on top of it.

They opened their link and took the role. If you two disagree, they decide — and if they never do, you both get your money back.

The money

3% fee. Nothing else.

A referee who rules is paid 1% of that 3%. You are never charged more.

Nobody agrees? Both refunded.
